Can I learm Music by AdMaestro?

Yes, it is a good tool to learn music. Even if you use AdMaestro just for fun, it requires good sense of Rhythm and Tempo. So it trains your basic music capability. If you want to make your music artistic, it requires not only high conducting skills, but also requires growing your capability to understand music by reading Score.

How can I use AdMaestro?

AdMaestro has two main features.

•  AdMaestro is a tool that realizes your musical intensions by conducting. Therefore you can enjoy to play any music by your way for fun or you may be able to try seriously for artistic expression

(2)AdMaestro can substitute for an orchestra accompaniment and a piano accompaniment. You can achieve easy and low cost accompaniment if you have suitable Minus-One music sources.

Can two people conduct together?

No, it causes error when two or more people are captured by Kinect.

Is there any costumes to fit AdMaestro?

Dark color is preferable that results better recognition of a hand for Kinect.

Do I need any knowledge and/or skills on the conducting methods to use AdMaestro?

No, but we suggest you lean the conducting methods taking this opportunity for two reasons.
(1)When you conduct AdMaestro and actual players, your gestures shall be understood by actual players as well,who require the right conducting manner.
(2)If you follow the right conducting manner, it give you easy way of conducting with less fatigue, and you can conduct longer time.

How can I make sure that my gestures are captured by Kinect during my performance?

Please mark your right position by a piece of adhesive tape before you start playing.

Can I use AdMaestro for official stage?

No, because we do not have tried the case. However, the performance on the stage is one of our ultimate goals.

Can AdMaestro accept the CD music which has very characteristic performance in tempos, interpretations?

We recommend the music with standard performance for initial input. It is a difficult job to make exact input on the unique performance which may have rapid changes in tempo and/or may be played in exceptionally high velocity. If the beats are not exact to the notes, it causes unstable output since AdMaestro tries to synchronize its output with the time of beats in the initialized file.

Is initializing input indispensable?

Yes, the principle of AdMaestro requires initializing.

Within a few second after the start of performance? AdMaestro abruptly terminated. Why does it happen?

Please check initialized file. It may not be completed.

Music does not start after the precounts.

In the case your first precount gesture is not clear enough to Kinect, music may will start late by one beat. Or, if you do not hold your position before the precount gesture, the same may occur.
If your location is too far from Kinect, Kinect sometimes miss your gesture that causes late start of music.

Is initializing input indispensable?

Music begins by the tempo of the second beat from the last beat of precount.

what kind of output is expected when my tempo of conduct sways?

AdMaestro keeps a base tempo during the performance based on your input. When your input varies from the base tempo within 10%, Admaestro outputs the tempo you input for a beat. If your tempo varies greater than 10% to the base tempo, Admaestro takes 10%. If two continuous input varies more than 6% on the same direction, Admaestro decides to change the basic tempo, and take the tempo of next beat as a new base tempo.

During the performance, AdMaestro became out of control. Why?

(1)Somebody came close to you, and he or she was captured by Kinect.
(2)You played beyond the initialized range of the music.

I kept the same tempos to Kinect, but AdMaestro does not get along with smooth tempos.

If the beats are not exact to the notes, it causes unstable output since AdMaestro tries to synchronize its output with the time of beats in the initialized file.

If I conduct wrong, How can I make up?

When AdMaestro has reacted to your mistakes, just keep your conducting right with clear vertical gestures or round gestures.　Then, AdMaestro usually follows you in a few seconds.

AdMaesro plays off the beat. What is wrong?

There may be two cases.
(1) Usually, CD has the silent time before the sound data, we call this silent time Pregap. If the Pregap is long enough to the time of half beat, AdMaestro plays off the beat by a half beat. In this case, please adjust Pregap by the Editor.
(2) if you have made initial input off the beat, the same thing tales place. You should make the initial files again.

Shall I distinguish the way of conducting for 2beats music and 3 beats music?

No, AdMaestro recognizes beating time and its velocity. However, you are required to do so for your audience and co-players.

How to select the number of beats a bar when 2beats or 4beats is possible?

Suitable range for both AdMaestro and Conductor falls between 50 to 110 beats per minute. Therefore, If the music goes 144 beats per minute, select 2beats.

How to change tempo.

AdMaestro keeps a base tempo during the performance based on your input. When your input varies from the base tempo within 10%, Admaestro outputs the tempo you input for a beat. If your tempo varies greater than 10% to the base tempo, Admaestro takes 10%. If two continuous inputs vary more than 6% on the same direction, Admaestro decides to change the basic tempo, and take the tempo of next beat as a new base tempo.

What is the best way to improve my skill on AdMaestro?

The skill to make a tempo as you wish will come in the first place.. The skill to distinguish MM=100 from MM=108 during the performance may be the highest level. Conducting training against a metronome may be the best way to achieve this target. Secondly, the skill for smooth and clear gestures which minimize noises to Kinect.

Can I use Kinect for Xbox?

We have some information that Kinect for Xbox can substitute. However, we have not try Kinect for Xbox, and our system is made on Kinect for Windows. When you purchase Kinect, Please select Kinect for windows.
